Transfort News October 2025
Service Updates Starting October 13

Transfort will implement service reductions beginning October 13 due to ongoing budget constraints and continued staffing shortages.

These changes reflect broader financial challenges facing the City, including a hiring freeze and cost-saving measures being implemented across all departments. With limited resources available, Transfort is adjusting service levels to better align with current staffing and budget realities.

Service Changes Effective October 13:

  • MAX: Will operate every 10 minutes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and every 20 minutes during other service hours

  • Route 81: Reduced to every 60 minutes (Route 8 continues every 30 minutes in the opposite direction)

  • Route 10: Service suspended

  • Route 9: No Saturday service

Transfort is also working on an Optimized Service Plan, set to be finalized in late 2025 or early 2026. The plan will focus on building a transit system that is sustainable and better aligned with current and future community needs.

Riding at Night? Use a Light!

Now that the days are getting shorter, you might be using Transfort after dark. Here's a transit tip to help your trip!

  • When you see the bus approaching the bus stop, turn your phone on or shine a light so the bus operator can see you. If we can't see you waiting at the stop, the bus might pass by.
  • Some Transfort stops have solar powered lights with a battery storage system. Activate the light by using the push button. The light will stay illuminated for approximately 5 minutes. See the list of stops with solar powered lights here
