Adopt-A-Park or Trail

Adopt-A-Park or Trail is an excellent way for organizations in Fort Collins to give back to the community!

The purpose of this program is to assist city maintenance crews in litter control in parks or along the bike trails.  An organization or group of individuals can adopt a park or section of trail for a period of one year, so it may be time to reapply, or apply for the first time!

Volunteers are recognized by a sign, with their organization name, at the park or trail. Adopters are responsible for litter control along their section of trail (usually .5 to 1 mile long) at least once a week as weather permits, or as often as possible.  We feel that “every little bit helps” in this case!

IT Volunteer Appreciation

The IT Department is excited to share that we are expanding our capacity and strengthening community partnerships through a new volunteer program. This month, we welcomed our first volunteer supporting the IT Asset Management team, helping us improve data accuracy, lifecycle tracking, and operational efficiency. In December, we will onboard two additional volunteers who will assist our team in supporting TransFort’s technology needs, enhancing service responsiveness for riders and staff alike. These volunteers bring valuable skills, fresh perspectives, and a shared commitment to public service—advancing our mission while building stronger connections across the organization and the community. If you would like additional information about the IT Department’s use of volunteers, please reach out to Jeff Willard, jwillard@fcgov.com.

Celebrating Conflict Transformation Works

“Celebrating 25 years of Volunteer Leadership”

On November 6th volunteers and community partners came together to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Conflict Transformation Works. Our community impact is made possible by strong, long-time partnerships and supporters.

Our team of 75 unique, skillful, community-minded volunteers have brought community mediation and restorative justice into the lives of thousands of Fort Collins residents over the last quarter century. At the event, folks shared insights and stories of transformation that they witnessed through their participation. We are honored to celebrate our shared work and the people who make it possible. Thank you!
