Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) and Transfort have launched a three-year cooperative agreement to enhance riders’ sense of safety across the public transit system.
The initiative responds to community concerns about nuisance behaviors by increasing officer presence, enhancing training, and improving signage and security measures to promote a welcoming and respectful environment. It emphasizes visibility, early intervention and specialized support teams to reinforce clear expectations and ensure riders and operators feel supported.
Riders and community members can expect to see increased FCPS officer presence from District 1 (D1), the Homeless Outreach and Proactive Engagement (HOPE) and Mental Health Response (MHRT) teams, as well as Transit Service Officers. Riders may also notice installation of new signage on buses, at transit centers and adjacent City property, as well as additional camera security.
