Transfort News May 2026
Save the Date - Open House!

Route changes are coming in August as part of the Transfort Optimization Plan. The plan, developed through extensive public engagement, data analysis and transit industry best practices, will create a more efficient, reliable and equitable bus system for riders across the city.

Most route service changes are scheduled to begin Aug. 17, 2026. Routes 14 and 18, which require significant realignment and new bus stops, are anticipated to change in 2027.

Changes to Dial-A-Ride Service

As fixed bus routes shift, the Dial-A-Ride paratransit service area will also be updated. Riders should be aware of the following changes effective Aug. 17, 2026:

  • Sunday service will end. Dial-A-Ride will no longer operate on Sundays.
  • Dial-A-Taxi vouchers will decrease to $15 in value and the Dial-A-Taxi service area will expand.
  • Existing clients who fall outside the new Dial-A-Ride service area will retain their eligibility for door-to-door service.

Community Open House: June 11

Transfort will host a community Open House where riders and residents can learn more about the changes, view updated route maps and ask questions of Transfort staff.

  • Thursday, June 11, 4 - 6 p.m.
  • Downtown Transit Center, 250 N. Mason Street

Get Involved - Garden Volunteers Needed!

Tucked into a hidden corner of the Downtown Transit Center lies the resting place of Annie - a dog who captured hearts after being rescued by railroad workers in the 1930s and went on to become a local mascot. When Transfort redeveloped the site in 2001, her gravesite was thoughtfully preserved as a small but meaningful piece of Fort Collins history.

Last fall, native plants were added to begin bringing the space back to life - but it needs a little help to truly thrive. We’re looking for volunteers to help care for Annie’s garden through weeding, tending and general upkeep.

Come lend a hand and help this special spot bloom again while honoring a beloved local story.
