The Human Library Returns to Fort Collins Museum of Discovery Feb. 22

Typical libraries offer print books and digital e-books for check out, but The Human Library® allows participants — or readers — to borrow a human book and engage in conversations about their unique stories. The Human Library program creates a safe and non-judgmental environment for conversations that challenge preconceptions and promote understanding of differences. The program encourages all participants to "unjudge" a human book by its cover.

Facility Improvements to Strengthen Community Care

Over the coming months, Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) will be repurposing space in the FCPS building for a new shared workspace for the FCPS Mental Health Response Team (MHRT) and the Homeless Outreach and Proactive Engagement (HOPE) team. This reflects a continued investment in FCPS's mission — Safety and Service for ALL — and a strategic partnership between these two teams that prioritize compassionate care for community members with unique needs.

Three Tips to Improve Winter Air Quality

Cold winter air can trap pollution near the ground, affecting everyone's health — both indoors and outdoors. The good news… you can help!

Use fireplaces wisely: Burn only clean, dry, seasoned wood in well-maintained, EPA-approved fireplaces or stoves.

Skip candles: Consider simmer pots or other flame-free options to reduce indoor soot and pollution.

Limit vehicle idling: Modern vehicles need only about 30 seconds to warm up — even on cold days.
