Report Out on Regional Housing Needs Assessment

Larimer County, together with Fort Collins and Loveland, commissioned a Regional Housing Needs Assessment. Hear  consultants from Root Policy Research report the findings of this assessment to:

·         Larimer County Commissioners on March 2

·         Fort Collins City Council on March 10

·         Loveland City Council on March 24

Applications Open for 2026 Rental Property Grants

Apply now until February 28th for up to $7,000 to repair or improve your rental property

Rental Property Owners or Managers can receive grants paid to licensed and approved contractors for repairs and upgrades that make a home more energy or water efficient.

Eligible projects include:

·         Window Replacement

·         Insulation or weatherization

·         Furnace or heat pump

·         Air conditioner or evaporative cooler

·         Water conservation upgrades to toilets or appliances’

·         Other energy efficient/water conservation projects

This spring, the City’s rental housing team will hold many educational events for landlords and tenants starting on February 20 at 9:00am with a program on what’s new with rental housing minimum standards for 2026. Discover how to go beyond the basics with good, better and best approaches.

Survey Opportunity: What kinds of new income-qualified water conservation programs would be most useful?

Fort Collins’ Utilities’ Water Conservation team is asking to hear directly from homeowners and renters about what water conservation programs would be most useful to community members. Examples might include plumbing repair assistance, installation of energy efficient toilets or gardening grants. Your ideas and feedback will guide staff in designing programs that truly meet community needs.

Participants will be entered to win a $20 gift card.

Fort Collins City Council has chosen liaisons for Boards and Commissions. The Affordable Housing Board sends sincere thanks to outgoing Council Liaison Melanie Potyondy for her attention and support. Welcome to the new Council Liaison Chris Conway. The Board looks forward to working with City Council on addressing the housing needs of our community.

The Affordable Housing Board’s next meeting is on March 5 at 4:00pm. This meeting will be at 222 Laporte Avenue.  Hope to see you there!
