Go the Distance: August Shift Your Ride Challenge

How far can biking, walking or riding the bus take you this month? The August Shift Your Ride Challenge is your chance to find out. All month long, log your trips on the Shift Your Ride platform and track how many miles you cover by bike, on foot, by bus or by carpool.

Whether it's your daily commute, a quick errand across town or a ride through the neighborhood, every mile adds up. Set a personal goal and see how far you can go by Aug. 31. Log your best month and earn points for a chance to win a $100 gift card. Eligible modes include biking, walking, transit, carpooling, vanpooling and e-scooter. You can log up to two trips per day.

Challenge yourself and start logging.

Borrow a bicycle repair kit from Poudre Libraries

Need to make a quick bike repair but don't have the right tools? Thanks to a partnership between Poudre Libraries and the City of Fort Collins, you can borrow a bicycle repair kit with your library card.

Each kit includes the basic tools needed for common bicycle repairs and adjustments. Whether you're fixing a flat tire, tightening loose components or making simple adjustments before your next ride, the kits can help you keep your bike in good working order.

Borrowing a repair kit is a great way to learn basic bike maintenance, save money and build confidence caring for your bike. Keeping your bike ready to ride makes it easier to choose biking for transportation, recreation and everyday trips.

The bicycle repair kits are available to check out through Poudre Libraries.
