Nalgene water bottles are primarily made from two types of plastic: HDPE (#4) and Tritan (a proprietary plastic that falls into the #7 "other plastics" category). Bottles with the number 4 in the chasing arrows symbol can go into your curbside recycling bin or be dropped off at facilities that accept plastic containers. Nalgene bottles that are not #4 plastics should be repurposed or put in the trash.
