E-cigarettes/vapes should never be put in the regular garbage or curbside recycling. Vapes contain lithium-ion batteries that can explode when crushed in trucks, and residual nicotine and other substances can be hazardous waste and can contaminate groundwater. 

Instead, please bring to Larimer County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 5887 S. Taft Hill Road (Building F) during regular business hours. Disposal is free for County residents and limited to 10 vapes a visit.
