Native to the eastern and southern portions of the U.S. Is susceptible to leaf spot or blight if planted in areas with poor drainage.


Yuccas have a mutualistic relationship with the Tegeticula genus of moths. Females pollinate the yuccas while laying their eggs in the flowers. The larva, once hatched, will eat some of the seeds. If they eat too many, the yucca will abort the fruit, which will also kill the larva, making sure that the plant and the moth maintain their mutualistic relationship.
