Notes

Flora of North America recognizes three subspecies of A. cana, all native to the U.S. Subspecies cana and viscidula are native to Colorado, the former is found on the eastern slope and the latter is primarily found on the western slope. Subspecies bolanderi is found in California, Nevada and Oregon.


Inflorescence is somewhat persistent after it dries on plant.
