Notes

A more soil and heat tolerant selection of sugar maple from Caddo County, Oklahoma. Can sometimes get chlorotic but this may not be partially due to soil but cold tolerance. Seems to be marginally cold hardy taking tip damage in some years. John Pair is locally considered the best selection. Should not be planted along major roads due to poor salt tolerance. Prone to sun scald.
