Fort Collins
Flora of North America recognizes five subspecies of C. viscidiflorus, all are native to the U.S. Two subspecies (lanceolatus and viscidiflorus) are native to Colorado. Subspecies viscidiflorus is also native to Fort Collins. Subspecies planiflorus is found only in Arizona, subspecies. puberlus and axillaris are native to the western U.S.
This is an important larval and adult food host for many of our native invertebrates.
