They can also be safely be thrown away in the trash; it's recommended to put the lightbulb in a smaller sealable bag first to contain shards if it breaks. DO NOT put lightbulbs in curbside recycling. Fluorescent bulbs (CFLs & tubes) include chemicals that make them unsafe to throw away. They must be dropped off at locations that accept them. |
